“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a
single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24 (NRSV)

East Manchester has been in decline for over forty years. The population fell by over 60% between 1960 and 1991. The majority of houses on our estate are now empty or boarded up. Our church itself stands condemned under a Compulsory Purchase Order. Our community is characterised by poor health, low educational attainment and, above all, lack of aspiration.

We know all about crucifixion.

We are a bit less sure about resurrection. But we believe there is hope.
